How do I contact you?

What is a limited edition art print?

A limited edition print is the overall number of prints a photographer will produce of one photographic image they have taken. Our Diamond prints are limited to 25 prints, Platinum 50 and Gold 75. No more than this number will ever be produced by the photographer or Pirinthian Photos globally.

What are the prices of art prints?

Prices for our gold prints start at £200. As each limited edition print is sold, the price of the next print rises by either £20 for Gold, £30 for Platinum or £40 for Diamond to reflect their reducing availability. Look at our pricing page for a more detailed explanation.

How is the art print made?

Each art print is printed on professional archival museum art paper ensuring consistent print output by using custom paper profiles.

Will the art print match my computer screen?

The short answer is no. Everyone viewing our prints will be using a different type of screen (computer monitor, tablet, smartphone etc.), all having different colours and brightness settings. However, rest assured, that each print will look far superior to what you see on any screen.

Do you offer frames?

We do not supply frames as selecting one is a very personal choice, needing to balance how it complements the print as well as its surroundings. We believe visiting a local framing company is the best option for your art print. We recommend using a minimal and simple frame as this works best with black & white prints. Some clients have chosen to place their prints directly onto their walls without a frame.

What sizes do you offer?

There are three sizes available. Diamond 36 x 24, Platinum 30 x 20 and Gold 24 x 16 inches. These are the most popular sizes and are proportionally balanced with a 1.5 ratio, very close to the golden ratio of 1.6. Frames are easily available from framing companies as these are standard sizes.

Can I return the art print if I am not satisfied?

Yes, in accordance with The Consumer Contracts Regulations (June 2014), you are given the right to return your print up to 14 days after receipt. If for any reason you are unhappy with your print return it to us using the same postal tube in which it was sent to you. Ensure that the package is tracked so that return receipt can be confirmed, postage costs are borne by the client.

Delivery time?

Allow 14 working days for Europe and 21 working days for the Rest of the World. Each print is created when ordered and is meticulously inspected for any faults or imperfections prior to despatch.

What is a certificate of authenticity?

Every print will have a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). This is a signed official document from the Photographer authenticating the print.

Once you place your order, you will receive an email confirmation. Your card will be debited at the time of sale.

Are images altered?

Photographers may sometimes remove small distracting elements from an image, but are not allowed to add or replace large elements, such as replacing the sky with a more interesting one or removing people to create a better composition.

Charity donation?

Our aim is to develop partnerships with photographers and the charities they support. Giving something back to the people and communities we photograph is one of our core values.

Can I license images for commercial use?

Most images are available for commercial licensing. As the website operates as a community with photos from many photographers, licensing terms & fees are negotiated directly with the photographer.

They are beautiful and represent the unique point of view of the photographer at the moment of capture usually framing a passing moment forever gone. Collecting photographic prints is also one of the most affordable areas of the art world in comparison to oil paintings and sculptures.

Why are the prints in categories?

Every photograph in our collection has gone through a very long selection process. The type of photography we curate is called "street style photography" this means capturing very rare moments. Our photographers usually select less than 1% of the photos they take in a given year as being suitable for sale.

Our main goal is seeking originality, we look through hundreds of photos every month, selecting only 1% of the photographer's 1%. Those meeting our criteria are sub-divided into the Gold, Platinum and Diamond categories as our last selection process. Every photographer has dozens of great photos, of those maybe half a dozen are amazing but only only 1 or 2 are outstanding, this is reflected by the three categories.

How long will prints last?

All prints have a display life under good conditions of 50 years or more. The paper we use is museum archival art paper which the manufacturer guarantees for 100 years. Please avoid displaying in direct sunlight and in areas of extreme humidity.

Will the value of my print rise?

Art of any type should be chosen primarily because of a connection with the artist's vision, investment considerations are ideally secondary. The price of limited edition pieces is decided by supply and demand, as supply reduces and if demand exists, the price tends to rise.

How do I store my unframed print?

Even though our hands are clean they are naturally greasy so use cotton gloves when handling your prints. Prints should be removed from the shipping tube and laid flat between acid-free tissue paper in a cool, dark, dry place.

What is an artist's proof?

An artist will traditionally create a few additional prints called artist's proofs. These prints are used by the artist and ourselves to showcase their work at galleries, museums and charity events helping the piece and artist gain recognition. An artist will most often also want to keep a print for themself.

Customs, import taxes & fees?

Customs policies differ in every country, therefore your art print may be subject to import duties, fees and taxes. We have no control over these fees and therefore any charges will be borne by the client.

How is UK VAT (Value Added Tax) handled?

All our prices are inclusive of UK VAT.

How are images secured on the website?

Ultimately, stopping someone from copying or saving an image from a website is difficult to accomplish. Our approach is to use low-resolution images making them less likely to be used commercially.

Photographers providing images to Pirinthian Photos guarantee to have created all images themselves and own all rights to the images. Images shall be on a semi-exclusive basis allowing use for commercial purposes apart from being printed in an art form.

What are the licensing terms?

Photographers providing images to Pirinthian Photos guarantee adherence to our limited edition policy of limiting Diamond prints to 25, Platinum prints to 50 and Gold prints to 75. If a photographer has already sold a number of prints prior to joining Pirinthian Photos, they must inform us of the number sold so we can adjust the number available on our website. This does not include the sale of digital images.

Legal enforcement?

Any legal or non-legal dispute regarding the authenticity, ownership, copyright, limited edition quantity of an image submitted by a photographer to Pirinthian Photos and for sale on our website shall be born directly by the photographer. Pirinthian Photo clients will hold photographers directly responsible for their images as ultimately the photographer is the only person with full knowledge and provenance of their images.
